RAONI HÜBNER began his music studies at "Canarinhos Boy’s Choir" in Brazil at the age of 9. In 2013 he completed a Master of Opera at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. And in 2015, a Bühnenexamen Oper at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart, Germany, under the guidance of the tenor Ks. Prof. Francisco Araiza.

 

Following his role debut as il Duca di Mantova in Verdi’s Rigoletto, in Italy, in the 18/19 season, Raoni, last season, has debuted Alfredo, in Verdi’s La Traviata, in a new production at the Košice State Theatre, Slovakia, acclaimed by the critic with a “magnificent vocal material”. He also débuted Jaquino in Beethoven’s Fidelio, and will premiere the title role in Massenet’s Werther this season, both being new productions in the same theater. The young tenor has also played characters such as Tamino from Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte”, Arnalta in Monteverdi’s “L’incoronazione di Poppea”, Nightwatchman/Marco Polo in Weir’s “A Night at the Chinese Opera” (British Youth Opera), Lysander in Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (Scottish Opera), Remendado in Bizet's Carmen and Fenton in Nicolai’s “Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor”. Raoni has also been in important stages such as the Laeiszhalle with the Hamburger Symphoniker under Jeffrey Tate (Humperdinck’s Königskinder), in I Puritani’s Arturo at the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ in Amsterdam, at the Staatstheater Mainz in Die Meistersinger von Nürenberg, and in the 17/18/19 Seasons he debuted in the Wienerstaatsoper in 2 Premieres, Gluck’s Alceste under Mark Minkowski, and Prokofiev’s The Gambler under Simone Young.

 

An experienced concert singer, Raoni has such highlights in his repertoire as Bach's Magnificat and Cantata 147, Johannes-Passion (Helmuth Rilling) ; Haendel's Messiah; Mozart's Vesperae Solennes, Spaur Messe and Requiem; Haydn's Theresienmesse and Nelsonmesse; Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle (SHMF); Gounod's Messe solennelle de Sainte-Cécile; Puccini's Messa di Gloria; Dvořák's Stabat Mater; Kodály's Psalmus Hungaricus; Britten's Saint Nicolas and War Requiem (Vienna boys Choir); Stravinky's Renard; Orff´s Carmina Burana (Glasgow City Halls), among others. Raoni has also performed in important concert series such as the "Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian" in Portugal, and in 2012 at the "Sala São Paulo". He had his debut also in 2012 with the "Scottish Chamber Orchestra", in Germany at the "Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival". He sang along the Brazilian Symphonic Orchestra and debuted at the Mozarteum Series in São Paulo.

 

Recently the young tenor had an acclaimed debut with the Thüringer Symphoniker, in Germany, singing at the traditional Silvestergala, highlighting a repertoire of well known german Opera/Operetten, written by Mozart, Lehár, Strauss, among others. He will be singing again in Thüringen at an Opera gala this current season.
